Explanation:

Making of food and supply of oxygen are the two biological benefits that photosynthetic plants provide to the crew of the ship. The plants make their own food for itself as well as for other organisms and also release oxygen that is produced in the process of photosynthesis. The crew should placed the plants in the sunlight and provides water daily in order to survive and photosynthesize. The sunlight and water are very important because sunlight opens the stomata through which carbondioxide gas enters into the leaves which combines with the water forming glucose and oxygen. Glucose is stored in the plant body whereas some oxygen is used by the plant during respiration and the extra is released in the air through stomata.
