(3a+2.5b)^2=9a^2+6.25b^2+*<br> Please help before Thursday
Anon25 [30]

Step-by-step explanation:

We have (x + y)² = (x + y)(x + y) = x² + 2xy + y².

Let x be 3a and y be 2.5b.

Therefore (3a + 2.5b)²

= (3a)² + 2(3a)(2.5b) + (2.5b)²

= 9a² + 15ab + 6.25b².

Hence the '*' sign should be replaced with 15ab.

Find the coordinates of the midpoint of a segment with the endpoints (12,2) and (7,9)
olga55 [171]

Answer:

(9\frac{1}{2}, 5\frac{1}{2}) or (9 1/2, 5 1/2)   (same things, just typed two different ways)

Step-by-step explanation

  I can't remember the midpoint formula so I'll use a different method to get the midpoint.

    since the ratio of a midpoint is 1:1 and that as a fraction is 1/2, we can take these coordinates and designate which one is first and which one is second (12, 2) will be my second and (7,9) will be my first. The formula I will use will be \frac{m}{m+n} (second X, - first X) + first x, so 1/2( 12 - 7) +7. now distribute the 1/2 to both the numbers  \frac{1x12}{2}  -\frac{1x7}{2} + 7  \\ \\ 12/2 -7/2 = 5/2 + 7 = 9.5  or 9\frac{1}{2}. The same works with the Y values, which would equal up to 5.5 or 5 \frac{1}{2}

Julie and Eric row their boat at a constant speed of 48 miles downstream for 6 hours, helped by the current. Rowing at the same
Alex
Solve for the two velocities:
with the current = 48/6 = 8 mph
against the current = 48/8 = 6 mph
bv= boat velocity in still water
cv = current velocity
A) bv -cv = 6mph
B) bv + cv = 8mph
Adding both equations
2 * bv = 14 mph
boat velocity = 7 mph
current velocity = 1 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

For a wave y = A sin(Bx + C) + D, the midline is y = D.

In this case, the midline is y = 0.
