Answer:

y =  -\frac{1}{6} x - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given coordinate:

          ( − 6 , − 1 )

Equation of the given line is  6x− y = 7

Unknown:

Equation of the line that passes through the point and is perpendicular = ?

Solution:

A perpendicular line will have a slope that is of negative inverse to the one given;

              6x  - y  = 7

                     -y  = -6x  + 7

                     y  = 6x - 7

According to y= mx + c

 y and x are the coordinates

    m is the slope

     c is the y-intercept

Therefore, the slope of the line  = 6

  Perpendicular to this = -\frac{1}{6}

 The new line will be;

       Let find the intercept;

             -1  =  -\frac{1}{6} x (-6) + c

             -1  = 1 + c

               c = -2

The new line is;

              y =  -\frac{1}{6} x - 2

11) Is the following biconditional true? Explain. Two people are brother and sister if-and-only-if they are siblings.
Anna [14]

Answer:

Well, not exactly.

<h3><em>Step-by-step explanation: You see, there's this thing called half siblings. They aren't exactly quite any different to normal siblings, except the fact that they either have the same mother and different father, or the same father and different mother. This usually results after a mother and a father divorce, or their respected love one dies, and they have children. The mother/father then can remarry, and when their wife/husband also has a child. The two or more children become half siblings. Also, if we're gonna talk not literal siblings. Close friends often like to think of each other as siblings, though they aren't biologically siblings. Half siblings and step sisters are two different things, half is where your sibling shares half your genes, and step siblings are where they don't have any of your genes and only their respected parent's genes. Now depending on if they mean biologically siblings, I would say true. But if they count all, then it would be false.</em></h3>

How many 6 1/4 inches pieces of fabric can be cut from a 75 inch roll
Westkost [7]

Answer: There are 9 pieces that can be cut from 75 inches roll.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Length of roll = 75 inch

Length of fabric is to be cut is given by

6\frac{1}{4}\ inches\\\\=\frac{25}{3}\ inches

We need to find the number of pieces :

\text{Number of pieces}=\frac{75}{\frac{25}{3}}\\\\\text{Number of pieces}=\frac{75\times 3}{25}\\\\\text{Number of pieces}=3\times 3\\\\\text{Number of pieces}=9

Hence, there are 9 pieces that can be cut from 75 inches roll.
