Who did some believe to be the messiah for whom the Jews were waiting

History

Nikitich [7]3 years ago

The idea that a human being–the Messiah–will help usher in the redemption of the Jewish people has roots in the Bible. However, Jewish sources have not, as a general rule, focused attention on the specific personal qualities of the Messiah. Images of the Messiah as humble or as a child are juxtaposed with images of a victorious and wise ruler–perhaps contrasting Israel’s current, unredeemed state and the prophetic vision of the future. In recent times, some Jews have “democratized” the concept of the Messiah, seeing the process of, or the preparation for, redemption in the actions of regular people.

Not sure if the helps but hopefully this helps you figure out some things...

Why did the British plan to seize control of Albany, New York, in 1777?
Ivan
Answer:

To cut off New England from the rest of the colonies

Explanation:

The theory was that with both New York City and Albany in British hands, they would then control the Hudson River and separate the particularly rebellious New Englanders from the rest of the colonies. It is simply the old divide and conquer theory.

Describe the russia/ukraine event in one paragraph
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer: Early on the morning of Feb. 24 in Ukraine, Russian troops poured over the border, and Russian planes and missile launchers attacked Ukrainian cities and airports. The attacks spanned much of the country, far beyond the border provinces where there has been sporadic fighting between the nations for years.

Ukraine’s government called it “a full-scale attack from multiple directions.” In the Feb. 24 edition of his newsletter, The Morning, David Leonhardt wrote, “The most significant European war in almost 80 years has begun.”
