Exodusters was a name given to African Americans who migrated from states along the Mississippi River to Kansas in the late nineteenth century, as part of the Exoduster Movement or Exodus of 1879. It was the first general migration of black people following the Civil War.
They created taxes on the people so they had the money to purchase guns and weapons. But they recruited men from the cities and they took them from there families and forced them to fight in the wars.

After winning the war against Britain, America came out as a country. American was recognized as a strong, independent country. This influenced Americans to have a sense of nationalism from the boosted confidence that came from the war. With this new sense of nationalism along with the exploration of the Louisiana territory, Americans soon came to believe that it was their duty to conquer the rest of the Western country. Manifest Destiny surfaced with this new confidence among Americans
