Mass unemployment
One of the most serious economic consequences of the Depression was mass unemployment. Large numbers of men found it nigh impossible to find a job, and so they left their homes and communities to look for work elsewhere. Even then, the best that many could hope for was manual labor or seasonal work.
After WWW1 Japan closed a large majority if not all of their ports to help their economy.

Early Chinese empires were influenced by these three philosophies, and some of them even became official state ideologies.
Around 200 AD, Daoism began to evolve into a religion, with Buddhist traditions profoundly influencing texts and rituals. Daoists contributed to Chinese medicine, science (the development of gun powder), and martial arts in later millennia as a religion in quest of eternal life (Taiji, Wudang).
