How have the nations systems of mountains and waterways influenced the development of the united states
Andreyy89

The waterways and mountains of the United States, much like the rest of the world, have had a significant impact on where people settled and how towns and cities interacted with one another. Large mountain ranges served as natural barriers between groups, causing distinct regional shared cultures to develop due to the relative isolation and shared geography that mountain ranges create. The opposite is true for rivers, which connected communities through ease of travel, trade, and shared access to water and other natural resources.

Why do meanders migrate downstream?
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

Deposition and erosion

Explanation:

Meanders form as a result of both accumulation and erosion, and they eventually move downstream. The stream bank around the outside of the curve, where stream flow has had the most power compared to less pressure, is eroded and undercut by the impact of the water. This will result in the formation of a river cliff.
