Brainstorm about the quote "Courage is grace under pressure."

English

Answer:

I really like this quote. The definition of grace is, "simple elegance or refinement of movement."

In my opinion, courage under pressure is the ability to give decisive answers and move through tribulation without hesitation or fear. This ties into gracefulness because it gives the imagery of swift and accurate movement.

The verb "looks" would be in this case a linking verb, since it is helping the reader understand the point of view of the observer. The weather itself is of course not "looking" anywhere.

Which of the following sentences has a helping verb?
disa [49]

The correct option is B) “She had rested on the rock”. Helping verbs are verbs that help the main verb with its meaning and they also set the time of the verb. In this case, the helping verb “had” is helping the main verb “rested”. The auxiliary verb “had” is also setting the verb tense of the sentence, which is past perfect.

The other examples “paddled”, “went” and “swam” are action verbs that do not need a helping verb to extend or add meaning.
