Answer:

False

Explanation:

The main reason why the north was against slavery was due to the fact that is was unnecessary for the inhabitant of the north to have slaves. They mostly thrived in the industry and lumber while the south was more reliant on cash crops so slaves were necessary.

Although they did free the slaves the North only granted them a certain amount of freedoms.

Who helped united Hispanic migrant farm workers in the American Southwest and West Coast?
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
Cesar Chavez united migrant workers in the American Southwest and West Coast. He helped to co-found the National Farm Workers Association. He traveled speaking about farm workers' rights. He helped to set up various strikes and settle them so that the workers benefited. Surprisingly, Chavez was against the Bracero Program, a program designed to guarantee migrant workers living conditions and bring in migrant workers. Chavez saw the program as harmful to the US farm workers and as a way to take advantage (in a bad way) of the migrant workers.

South Carolina was heavily slave-based due to the geography of their land that allowed their land to be ideal for plantations. They did not want to lose slavery because that would mean they would lose cheap labor and money as they would have to engage in hiring people for higher wages if slavery were to be banned.
