or

x = \frac{6\pm\sqrt{36-12}}{2}

or

x = \frac{6+\sqrt{24}}{2} and, x = x = \frac{6-\sqrt{24}}{2}

x = \frac{6+2\sqrt{6}}{2} and, x = x = \frac{6-2\sqrt{6}}{2}

or

similarly for (2x² − 4x − 7) = 0.
