If KL = 8 and KM = 12, what is KN? Round your answer to the nearest tenth.
WITCHER [35]

Answer:

5.3

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the right triangle altitude theorem.

KM/KN = KL/KN

12/8 = 8/KN

1.5 = 8/KN

1.5KN = 8

KN = 8/1.5

KN = 5 1/3

Which fraction expresses -30/54 in lowest terms?
Pavlova-9 [17]
-30/54 in simplest form:

First, we can start out by finding the greatest common factor (GCF) of the numerator (30) and the denominator (54). To do so, we will list the factors of each number, find the common ones and then the greatest.

Factors of 30: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30
Factors of 54: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18, 27, 54

Look through both sets of factors. Which are the common factors? 1, 2, 3, and 6 are the common factors of 30 and 54. Now, we have the find the greatest common factor. Basically, which number has greater value out of 1, 2, 3, and 6? The GCF is 6.

Second, our last step is to divide the numerator (30) and denominator (54) by our recently found GCF which was 6. This will create a new fraction which is in simplest form.

30 \div 6 = 5 \\ 54 \div 6 = 9

Let's collect our new numerator and denominator and rewrite our brand new fraction in its simplest form.
-\frac{5}{9}

Answer in fraction form:\fbox {-5/9}
Answer in decimal form: \fbox {-0.5556}

What is the quotient of 7^2/2x+6 divided by 3x-5/x+3
Reil [10]

\bf \cfrac{7^2}{2x+6}\div \cfrac{3x-5}{x+3}\implies \cfrac{7^2}{2x+6}\cdot \cfrac{x+3}{3x-5}\implies \cfrac{49}{2~~\begin{matrix} (x+3) \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}}\cdot \cfrac{\begin{matrix} x+3 \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix} }{3x-5}\implies \cfrac{49}{2(3x-5)}

Write an augmented matrix for the following system of equations
chubhunter [2.5K]
Just use the coefficients for each variable and put it in a matrix. Is the second question set equal to something? Because then you would put it in place as the question mark. (Did the pic come through?)
So the 3x3 matrix is made up of the coefficients and then to augment the matrix, you add another column at the end with the solutions. Good luck!
