Sometimes doing what we are expecting to do can help us in different ways. For anexample when parents are wanting their children to work hard in school an get good grades they are not wanting to just be pleased with your A+ but are wanting you to work hard because eventually they won't be there to push you any more to work hard,. Another reason can be because you are seeing the potentials and things that you know you're capable of doing.

Does this help let me know I can add more or explain better

Answer: When given a role, we are expected to play it. Given this role, we are also given responsibility. We can use this as an opportunity to show that we can be counted on, and we can be trusted. This instilled trust can show others they can count on you, and if and when needed, you'll be there. Being trusted is something earned, never given without reason.
