we know the hypotenus  is 20 ft

we don't know what the side length that is adjacent to the angle

ADJ/HYP = cos (of the angle)

OPP/HYP  = sin (of the angle)

sin/cos = tan (of the angle) = ( OPP/HYP) / (ADJ/HYP)  = OPP/ ADJ

How would we solve for x the side opposite the angle?
