Answer:

because drix, a finicky cold-cure pill is taken to bring frank's body back to homeostasis.

Explanation:

so here's my thinking- your body is pretty in homeostasis whenever you aren't sick, so when you do get sick your body's 'balance' gets thrown off theoretically. and according to wikipedia, homeostasis is the state of steady internal, physical, and chemical conditions maintained by living systems. this is the condition of optimal functioning for the organism and includes many variables, such as body temperature and fluid balance, being kept within certain pre-set limits.

good luck :)

i hope this helps

have a nice day !!

soldi70 [24.7K]
The major effects of insulin on muscle and adipose tissue are: (1) Carbohydrate metabolism: (a) it increases the rate of glucose transport across the cell membrane, (b) it increases the rate of glycolysis by increasing hexokinase and 6-phosphofructokinase activity, (c) it stimulates the rate of glycogen synthesis and decreases the rate of glycogen breakdown. (2) Lipid metabolism: (a) it decreases the rate of lipolysis in adipose tissue and hence lowers the plasma fatty acid level, (b) it stimulates fatty acid and triacylglycerol synthesis in tissues, (c) it increases the uptake of triglycerides from the blood into adipose tissue and muscle, (d) it decreases the rate of fatty acid oxidation in muscle and liver. (3) Protein metabolism: (a) it increases the rate of transport of some amino acids into tissues, (b) it increases the rate of protein synthesis in muscle, adipose tissue, liver, and other tissues, (c) it decreases the rate of protein degradation in muscle (and perhaps other tissues). These insulin effects serve to encourage the synthesis of carbohydrate, fat and protein, therefore, insulin can be considered to be an anabolic hormone.

Ainat [17]
The answer would be: preventing the movement of sperm into the uterus

Diaphragm is a birth control device that physically protects the uterus so the sperm couldn't enter it. Since sperm cannot enter the uterus, there will be no fertilization.
The diaphragm is shaped like a cup and needs to be put on uterus before the intercourse. A spermicide cream could also be added to kill the sperm that somehow passes through it.

According to the theory of organic evolution, all living organisms are related, and they descended with some modifications from
lesya [120]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

According to the theory of organic evolution, all organisms are related to each other and they all are descendants with some modification from the organism that lived in the past. The evidence of this theory can be seen in existence in homologous organs in different species for example wings of bird and hand or humans.

This homology proves that they shared the common ancestor in the past and they are descendants with some variation and modification which make them appear different from each other. Therefore the statement is true.

An organism with 24 chromosomes in each body cell will produce sex cells with __________ chromosomes.
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

Option. A) 12

Explanation:

An organism with 24 chromosomes in each body cell will produce sex cells with 12 chromosomes. The chromosome number is half because meiosis occurs in sex cells in which parent cell is divided into four daughter cells having half number of chromosome i. e. haploid. So the parent cell has 24 chromosome when division occurs, the number of chromosome becomes half i. e. 12.
