Distributive property is characterized by the use of parenthesis, wherein you distribute the outside number to each term inside the parenthesis by multiplication. You'll just have to copy the operation inside the parenthesis as it is, whether addition or subtraction. For example,

3(10+4-3) = 3(10) + 3(4) - 3(3) = 33

Determine the vertical asymptote for the rational function f(x) = x - 4 over 2x + 3.
mr_godi [17]

Vertical asymptotes happen at x=a if the function is undefined at x=a.

This is a rational functions, and rational functions are not defined when the denominator is zero, since you can't divide by zero.

In this case, the denominator is zero if

2x+3=0 \iff 2x=-3 \iff x=-\drac{3}{2}

And thus the function has a vertical asymptote at x= -3/2

In a standard deck of 52 cards, what is the probability of drawing one card and getting a face card or a heart?
serious [3.7K]

Answer: I hope this helps :)

Step-by-step explanation:

All in all, this leaves us with #(Heart or Face card) = 13+12–3=22 cards.

So your probability would be p(Heart or Face card)= 22/52  or  11/26  or 42,3%

(but they are all the same)

Which two equations would be most appropriately solved by using the zero product property?
kirza4 [7]
The first and the third equation can be solved by using the zero product property. Let us examine each equation.
4x²+16x=0
4x(x+4)=0
4x=0 and x+4=0
where x1=0 and x2=-4
Next answer is whown below:
(x+4)(x-12)=0
x1=-4 and x2=12
Therefore, the first and the third equations are the answers.
