To factor this expression, the first thing to do is to take out the terms and look at the factors of each one:
-5p:-1*5*p
20: 2*2*5

When you look at the factors for each term, notice that both the terms have the same greatest common factor of 5. Noticing this, factor out 5 from the expression which will get you to 5(-p+4). However, normally in math, the first term of an expression usually is not a negative so you would factor out -1 from the expression which would result in your answer: -5(p-4)

If a rectangle measures 21 centimeters by 28 centimeters what is the length in centimeters of the diagonal of the rectangle
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

35cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Length= 21cm

Width= 28cm

Diagonal= ???

Applying Pythagoras theorem

D^2= L^2+W^2

D^2= 21^2+28^2

D^2= 441+784

D^2= 1225

D= √1225

D= 35cm

Hence the diagonal is 35cm

what is the distance between the points (4, 5) and (10, 13) on a coordinte plane a. 12 units b. 8 units c. 10 units d. 14 units
qaws [65]

Answer:

<h2>10 units</h2>

Option C is the correct option

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the points be A and B

A ( 4 , 5 ) ------> ( x1 , y1 )

B ( 10 , 13 ) ------> ( x2 , y2 )

Now, let's find the distance between these points:

\sqrt{ {(x2 - x1)}^{2}  +  {(y2 - y1)}^{2} }

plug the values

= \:  \sqrt{(10 - 4) ^{2} +  {(13 - 5)}^{2}  }

Calculate the difference

=  \sqrt{ {(6)}^{2} +  {(8)}^{2}  }

Evaluate the power

=  \sqrt{36 + 64}

Add the numbers

=  \sqrt{100}

Write the number in exponential form with. base of 10

=  \sqrt{ {(10)}^{2} }

Reduce the index of the radical and exponent with 2

= 10 \: units

Hope this helps..

Best regards!!

2 litres every 2.5 minutes is 4 litres every 5 minutes so therefore, it is 0.8 litres/minute (800ml per minutes)

EastWind [94]

Answer:x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Similar figures have sides that are proportional.  Setting up a proportion for the sides of the figures will help solve for 'x':

Cross-multiply:  3(x + 1) = 6(x - 3)

Distribute:  3x + 3 = 6x - 18

Combine like terms:  21 = 3x

Solve for 'x':  x = 7
