why do you think the Sherman Antitrust Act and other attempts at regulating monopolies and trusts were not effective?
Vesna [10]
For more than a decade after its passage, the Sherman Act was invoked only rarely against industrial monopolies, and then not successfully, chiefly because of narrow judicial interpretations of what constitutes trade or commerce among states. When it was first passed, the Sherman Antitrust Act was largely ineffective at stopping industrial monopolies. Courts at the time tended to hold a very narrow view of what constituted “trade or commerce among states,” and most companies were not held liable under the act. For more than a decade after its passage, the Sherman Antitrust Act was invoked only rarely against industrial monopolies, and then not successfully. Ironically, its only effective use for a number of years was against labor unions, which were held by the courts to be illegal combinations.

Answer: there were many challenges that the American had to face in the late 20thand early 21stcenturies.

By reading the two poems "On the Pulse of Morning" and "One today" I was able to infer some of them. For instance when Maya Angelou said ’’ Women, children, men, take it into the palms of your hands, Mold it into the shape of your most Private need. Sculpt it into ±he image of your most public self. Do not be wedded forever to fear, yoked eternally to brutshness.” She was saying that we had a problem with dwelling on the past and need to get passed that because to many people have worked hard to make our country the way it is today. So we need to look past how people, look, sound, and originated from and get back to the basic

Which statement best describes the domino theory? A. If the United States spread democracy to one nation it would soon spread to
Katena32 [7]

The correct answer is D) A communist victory in one country could lead to the spread of communism to other countries.

This idea of the domino theory greatly impacted the American federal government's foreign policy during the Cold War. Due to this fear of communism spreading, the federal government adopted the policy of containment. Containment was based on the idea that America was going to stop communism from spreading to other countries. The domino theory and containment were ideas that resulted in America getting involved in several different foreign wars such as the Korean and Vietnam War.
