Hey there! I'm happy to help!

We want to get all of the variables on the left side and all of the numbers on the right side. This will allow our variable to be isolated so we can see what it is equal to.

1/4x - 1/8 = 7/8 + 1/2x

We add 1/8 to both sides.

1/4x=1+1/2x

We subtract 1/2x from both sides.

-1/4x=1

We divide both sides by -1/4 (same thing as multiplying -4).

B. x=-4

Have a wonderful day and keep on learning! :D

4x+12b=4 solve for x
ioda
To find the value of x, you replace b with a 0, making the new equation 4x=4. If you simplify that, you will find that x=1.
