Answer:

The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the Earth's surface. When the Sun's energy reaches the Earth's atmosphere, some of it is reflected back to space and the rest is absorbed and re-radiated by greenhouse gases. ... The absorbed energy warms the atmosphere and the surface of the Earth.

Are bats the only mammal that can fly? BQ: are there flying reptiles
GREYUIT [131]
Yes, they ate the only mammals which could fly because flying squirrels, possums or etc. could only glide for a short distance and time, unlike bats. There are no reptiles who could fly, but there are reptiles who could glide which I think is completely different. But they said that Pterosaur existed which they believed it is a flying reptile dinosaur. Just look it up. :)

Sweating and panting are examples of which characteristic of life?
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Responding to the environment

Explanation:

Sweating and panting are mechanisms of homeostasis i.e the regulation of the body's internal environment in response to changes or fluctuations in the external environment.

Sweating is a physiological response to the body's core temperature rising above the limit of 36.5-37.5°C. Once the hypothalamus in the brain detects this rise in temperature, cooling mechanisms are initiated. One of these is sweating. Release and subsequent evaporation of sweat through the sweat glands produces a cooling effect.

Panting is a physiological response more observed in dogs. Dogs lack sweat glands and therefore cannot lower their core temperature through sweating. Panting utilizes saliva instead of sweat to lower body's temperature to the set limit.

The rate of firing of the postsynaptic neuron depends on the amount of ______ input it receives from the presynaptic neuron.
DIA [1.3K]

The correct answer is d. both excitation and inhibition.

There is a process which is called summation and it refers to the process that determines whether or not an action potential (on postsynaptic neuron) will be generated by the combined effects of excitatory and inhibitory signals (from the presynaptic neurons). Depending on the sum total of inputs, summation may or may not reach the threshold voltage to trigger an action potential (firing of postsynaptic potential).
