Endemism is the ecological state of a species being unique to a defined geographic location, such as an island, nation, country or other defined zone, or habitat
Explanation: Endemic species are only found in specific regions, these specific regions may be a continent, a country or my be an island and are not found anywhere else in the world. Basically they are not widespread in other regions that are not suitable to their environment. They are confined to the habitat of that specific region, the region may be small or large. They can not make theirselves adaptable to any other habitat or may become endangered if they are carried to other habitats.
There is also a condition in which they are previously spread and now are confined to one area.
