Teens can become addicted to prescription, and really any, drugs. They can also do drugs to feel better and “fix” any illnesses they may have. Or they could just want to fit in and experiment and OTC drugs are the easiest to get ahold of.
Going to the doctor/counselor to talk and figure out what’s “wrong” with you are other ways to cope, really talking to anyone would be good. Some teens self harm in other ways besides drug abuse to cope.
