V-E day was when around 50% of the war was over, mostly because WW2 was fought in 2 fronts and this was the end of the war on the European front but the Japanese front still remained.

the us had nothing to do with ww1 untill they discoverd a telegram from Germany to mexico saying that they would give mexico back some states in exchange for there military help. 2nd reason: German u boats/ submarines kept sinking us civilian ships.
