How many acute, obtuse, and right angles are in this figure?
Tanya [424]
Hey!

I hope you don't mind, but before I answer this question I'd like to do a quick review of some general angles and how to tell which is which.

<span><em><u /></em><span><em><u>QUICK REVIEW</u></em>
</span></span>
So, let's first review what an acute angle is. An acute angle is an angle that is smaller than 90<span>°. The word acute basically means having a sharp or pointy end. So this is a helpful way to remember what an acute angle is.

Now, let's review what an obtuse angle is. An obtuse angle is an angle that is more than 90</span>°. If an angle measures over 90<span>° that it is more than likely that it is an obtuse angle.

Last but not least a right angle. A right angle is an angle that has to be exactly 90</span>°. If an angle is 90<span>° than it is most definitely a right

<span><em><u /></em><span><em><u>END QUICK REVIEW</u></em>
</span></span>
Let's start by finding out the angle in the top left hand corner. The angle is clearly no more that 90</span>° and is not 90° exactly. This angle must be an acute angle. We can also tell that it is an acute angle because the angle is sharp.

Now let's look at the angle on the bottom left hand corner. The angle is clearly no less than 90° and more than 90° exactly. This angle must be an obtuse angle.

Since the angles are basically the same on the other side, we won't be reviewing those. Now we'll count all the angles we have.

Acute Angles - 2

Obtuse Angles - 2

Right Angles - 0

<em>So, this means that in the figure shown above,</em>  there are 2 acute angles, 2 obtuse angles, and no right angles.

Hope this helps!

The sum of two numbers is 24. The difference is 15. What are the two numbers?
tatiyna
The numbers are "x" and "y",
we suggest this system of equations.
x+y=24
x-y=15
solve by reduction method.
x+y=24
x-y=15
-----------------
2x=39      ⇒x=39/2=19.5

  x+y=24
-(x-y=15)
-------------------
   2y=9    ⇒y=9/2=4.5

The numbers are 19.5 and 4.5

To check
19.5+4.5=24
19.5-4.5=15

A president, treasurer, and secretary, all di erent, are to be chosen from a club consisting of 12 people (whose names are I, J,
Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

There are 220 choices

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

People = 12

Selection =3 (President, Treasurer and Secretary)

Required

Determine number of selection (if no restriction)

This is calculated using the following combination formula:

^nC_r = \frac{n!}{(n - r)!r!}

Where

n = 12

r= 3

So, we have:

^nC_r = \frac{n!}{(n - r)!r!}

^{12}C_3 = \frac{12!}{(12 - 3)!3!}

^{12}C_3 = \frac{12!}{9!3!}

^{12}C_3 = \frac{12*11*10*9!}{9!3!}

^{12}C_3 = \frac{12*11*10}{3!}

^{12}C_3 = \frac{12*11*10}{3*2*1}

^{12}C_3 = \frac{12*11*10}{6}

^{12}C_3 = 2*11*10

^{12}C_3 = 220\ ways

Match each expression in the left column with the correct product in the right column.
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

-6

-6i

6i

6

Step-by-step explanation:

1) √4 . √-3 . √-3

$ \sqrt{4} = 2 $

$ \sqrt{-3} . \sqrt{-3} = (\sqrt{-3})^2 $

$ \sqrt{4} . (\sqrt{-3})^2 = 2 \times -3 = $ -6

2) √-4 . √-3 . √-3

$ \sqrt{-4} = 2i $ .

Therefore, $ \sqrt{-4} . \sqrt{-3} . \sqrt{-3} = 2. \sqrt{-1}  \times -3 = 2i \times (-3) =  $ - 6i

3) √4 . √3 . √-3

$ \sqrt{4} = 2 $

$ \sqrt{3} . \sqrt{-3} = (\sqrt{3})^2 . \sqrt{-1} $

$ \implies 2 \times 3i = $ 6i

4) √4 . √3 . √3

$ \sqrt{4} = 2 $

$ \sqrt{3} . \sqrt{3} = (\sqrt{3})^2  = 3 $

Therefore, √4 . √3 . √3 = 2 . 3 = 6
