When solving a linear equation (in one variable), there are three possible outcomes: one solution, no solution, and infinitely many solutions.

You know you have one solution when you get to a situation like “x= a number”. That means that’s the only x-value that makes the equation true.

If you get to something like “2=6” which is not true, that means the equation cannot ever be made true, so there is no solution to that equation.

If you get to something like “2=2” which is always true, that means the equation is always true, no matter what value you pick for the variable. This type of equation has infinitely many solutions.

In terms of your specific question, the third answer is the one that is a true statement.

What is -4 3/4% of 98.95
Daniel [21]
-4.75% of 98.95 is a simple multiplication problem.

first convert the percentage into a decimal. To do this mulitply -4.75 times 100 to get -0.0475.

Then multiply -0.0475 times 98.95 and that will give you the percentage of 98.95. The answer should be -4.700. I hope these are the right numbers because usually you don't deal with negative percentages.

How to solve for axis of symmetry for y=(x+2)(x-4)
lianna [129]

Answer:

x = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

you can first find the two zeroes

that would be

x + 2 = 0

x - 4 = 0

x = {-2, 4}

then you average them

-2 + 4 = 2

2 / 2 = 1

the aos is 1

The plastic cylinder has a diameter of 2 cm. There is a rectangular 0.6 cm square prism through the middle of the cylinder, exte
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

16.69 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

In finding the volume of the cylinder without the prism you find the volume of the cylinder assuming it has no prism in it then minus the volume of the prism

Volume of the cylinder assuming there is no prism through it

V=πr²h where r is radius of the cylinder and h is height of the cylinder

Given that diameter = 2, then r= 1 cm and height, h = 6cm

V= π * 1 * 1 * 6

V= 18.85 cm³

Volume of the rectangular prism

V= l*w*h

V= 6*0.6*0.6

V= 2.16 cm³

The volume of the cylinder without the prism

18.85 cm³-2.16 cm³ = 16.69 cm³
