When solving a linear equation (in one variable), there are three possible outcomes: one solution, no solution, and infinitely many solutions.

You know you have one solution when you get to a situation like “x= a number”. That means that’s the only x-value that makes the equation true.

If you get to something like “2=6” which is not true, that means the equation cannot ever be made true, so there is no solution to that equation.

If you get to something like “2=2” which is always true, that means the equation is always true, no matter what value you pick for the variable. This type of equation has infinitely many solutions.

In terms of your specific question, the third answer is the one that is a true statement.

Five workers dig a trench 5 yards long in 5 hours. How many workers are needed to dig a 100 yards long in 100 hours?
Pavlova-9 [17]

I think it would require 100 workers since 1 worker digs up 1 yard.

Hope this helps.

Use the slope-intercept form to Graph y=-1/8x+2
noname [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a straight line equation. We only need two points to draw a straight line.

Choose two different numbers, put them into the equation instead of x, and calculate the value of y.

y=-\dfrac{1}{8}x+2

for x = 8

y=-\dfrac{1}{8}\cdot8+2=-\dfrac{8}{8}+2=-1+2=1

<h2>(8, 1)</h2>

for x = -8

y==-\dfrac{1}{8}\cdot(-8)+2=\dfrac{8}{8}+2=1+2=3

<h2>(-8, 3)</h2>

Mark the points in the coordinate system and draw a straight line through the given points.

A. ?? <br> B. ?? <br> C. ??<br> Please help me!!!
patriot [66]
Bonjour!

For A, the two angles are congruent by the Corresponding Angles are Congruent Theorem/Postulate.

For B, the two angles are congruent by the Vertical Angels are Congruent Theorem/Postulate.

As for C, the two angles are congruent by the Same Side Exterior Theorem/Postulate.(Though I am uncertain if that is the correct name for this one)

Hope that helps :)
