In health care, constant vigilance allows the detection and reaction to danger. Moreover, management refers to the oversight of healthcare systems, which is fundamental to achieve suitable care outcomes. Finally, quality/performance allows us to improve the health of the population, as well as to enhance patient outcomes.

  • In healthcare, vigilance refers to the ability that health professionals and institutions have to handle patient health before, after, and during care encounters.

  • Healthcare management refers to the administration and organization of all issues related to a healthcare facility such as a hospital or clinic.

  • Finally, quality improvement refers to the analysis of healthcare performance in order to improve the health of the whole population, enhance the patient outcome, and better meet her/his needs.
