What is a wave of water caused by an earthquake under the ocean
Marianna [84]

The wave is called a tsunami.

Tsunami waves are produced when a volcanic eruption or earth quake occurs in the ocean.

Tsunami waves are usually giant waves . when they are produced far out in the ocean, they are not all that tall. What happens is that as they begin to move from far out in the ocean towards the coast, they begin getting taller and taller the depth of the sea floor reduces and the sea gets shallower and shallower. By time they reach land they may be dozens of feet high.

They also move at terrific speed especially over deep waters, almost as fast as a jet plane. They only begin to slow down as they approach land but even then the speed is still tremendous.

What could happen if the wrong organism is identified as the cause of disease?
____ [38]

If the wrong organism is identified, then people would probably be in danger. Because you wouldn't know if the actual species is deadly or not. Lets say that the wrongly identified organism isn't deadly, but the real one is. Everyone is just strolling along, and then you're dead because it bit you.

And of course, if you're coming up with a cure, (because both are toxic) you're making the wrong one. Which could harm people just based off their bodies and what you're putting into them. Everyone is different.

Galactosemia is inherited as a homozygous recessive trait (i.e.,gg). You have sampled a population in which 36% of people have g
murzikaleks [220]

Answer:

a. The frequency of the g allele= 0.6

b. The frequency of the G allele= 0.4

c. The frequency of the GG genotype= 0.16 or 16%

The frequency of Gg genotype= 0.48 or 48%

Explanation:

According to the given information, the disorder is homozygous recessive trait. The frequency of the homozygous recessive genotype (gg) in the population (q^2)= 36% or 0.36

Therefore, the frequency of the recessive allele "g" (q) = square root of 0.36= 0.6

Since p+ q = 1

Therefore p= 1-q = 1-0.6= 0.4

The frequency of the dominant allele "G" (p)= 0.4

The frequency of the homozygous dominant genotype GG = p^2= 0.4 x 0.4 = 0.16 or 16%

The frequency of heterozygous dominant genotype Gg = 2pq = 2 x 0.6 x 0.4 = 0.48 = 48%

What would happen if a person ran a race and her muscles carried out alcoholic fermentation instead of lactic acid fermentation?
Ilya [14]
The alcoholic fermentation would produce alcohol and CO2 rather than lactic acid. This could be detrimental to the runner. I don’t know if the person would get drunk, though, theoretically this is
possible if the alcohol can get into the bloodstream but it could definitely cause some problems with muscle tissue, since CO2 would take the place of the oxygen we need.
