Does the electoral college discourage third-party candidates?
Paha777 [63]
They kind of do. That is because even though a party is strong nationwide or within a state, there are high chances that their votes will almost be irrelevant because the votes will go to one of the major 2 parties. This system can discourage them from participating.

Which economic systems is based on a command economy as opposed to a free market economy
NARA [144]

The economic system that is strictly based on command economy is the communism. This economic system is one where the government is the one that decides everything. How much is produced, what is produced, when it is produced, it is all planned by the government. The private sector doesn't exist, and everyone in this type of economic system is treated equal and has same income.

The economic system that is based on market economy is the capitalism. This economic system is one where everything is owned by the private sector, whit the government not interfering in the businesses. The private businesses are able to decide what, when , and how much to produce, and their only ''judge'' are the consumers.

How did the Congressional response to the Soviet-Afghan War change Americans’ perspectives about the global role of the United S
olga_2 [115]
I believe that the correct answer should be B), because he worsened the relations with the Soviet Union, relations that were much better during the time of previous president, Richard Nixon. It wasn't that much about the Afghan people, since he thought that i posed a""a grave threat to the free movement of Middle East oil". Also, he lost his 1980 election to Ronald Reagan, who promised-and delivered-an even more vigorous anticommunist foreign policy, which is why I strongly believe that the correct answer is B).
