How to calculate area of coloured partplsss help

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The need is to find the area of the elongated plus sign inside the rectangle. The area of the rectangle itself is not needed. That elongated plus sign is where we will run into trouble. The center of that plus sign is included in both the vertical strip and the horizontal strip. So when we go to find the area of the plus sign, we include the center in one or the other, NOT BOTH. I included the area in the vertical strip so I eliminated it in the horizontal strip, creating 2 shorter strips on either side of the center.

The area for the vertical strip, including the center:

A = 3 * 26 (3 is the width and 26 is the length)

A = 78 square meters

Now for the horizontal strip...

The horizontal strip minus the center is

14 - 3 = 11; divide that 11 in half and we get the length of each short horizontal strip on either side of the center to be 5.5 meters long. Therefore, each short strip measures 5.5 (we have 2 of them).

A = 3(5.5) + 3(5.5) and

A = 16.5 + 16.5

A = 33

The sum of the long vertical and the 2 shorter horizontal areas is

78 + 33 = 111

Therefore, the total area of the colored portion is 111 square meters.

Answer:

The answer to your question is:

Step-by-step explanation:

Q1. They are vertical angles, so they measure the same

                           [2(x + 10)] = (3x - 30)

                           2x + 20 = 3x -30

                           2x - 3x = -30 - 20

                           - x = - 50

                             x = 50

Q2. They are also vertical angles, so they measure the same.

                          [6(x - 2)] = 3x + 30

                           6x - 12 = 3x + 30

                           6x - 3x = 30 + 12

                           3x = 42

                           x = 42/3

                           x = 14

∠DHG = 6(14 - 2)

∠DHG = 6(12)

∠DHG = 72

The function g(x) is graphed on the coordinate grid. Which statements are true of g(x)? Select three options.
Aliun [14]

Answer:

  • A. The function g(x) is a translation of f(x) = √x.
  • C. The function g(x) has a range of {y | y > –1}.
  • E. The function g(x) can be translated right 3 units and up 1 unit to create the function f(x) = √x

Explanation:

The function f(x) = √x has been translated 3 units to the left and 1 unit down to make g(x). That means translating g(x) 3 units right and 1 unit up will make f(x). (matches choices A and E)

__

The range of the function is the vertical extent, all y-values ≥ -1. (matches choice C)

__

The translated function is ...

  g(x) = f(x+3) -1 = √(x +3) -1 . . . . . does not match choice D

__

The domain of the function is the horizontal extent, all x-values ≥ -3. (does not match choice B)
