Answer:

Whenever you assume values, try and make them as accurate as possible i.e. I am looking for consecutive even numbers so I will assume the values to be (2n - 2), 2n and (2n + 2)

s2−r2−q2=(2n+2)2−(2n)2−(2n−2)2s2−r2−q2=(2n+2)2−(2n)2−(2n−2)2

You get: 4n (4 - n)

So the solution must have 4 as a factor, which we see all options do.

To get -20, n(4-n) must be (-5). It will happen when n = 5.

To get 0, n = 0

To get 12, n(4-n) must be 3. It will happen when n = 3

To get 16, n(4-n) must be 4. It will happen when n = 2

There is no way n(4-n) could be 2 if n is an integer so 8 is not possible.Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

Area is 20

Perimeter is 24

A= L × W

Step-by-step explanation:

Area is found by multiplying the length by the width, which in this case is 10 × 2 = 20

Perimeter is found by adding all of the sides together, so 2 + 2 + 10 + 10 = 24

A= Legnth × Width or vise versa

Identify the vertex, focus, and directrix of the parabola with the equation x^2-6x-8y+49=0
NeTakaya
Get it in form 4P(y-k)=(x-h)^2
add 8y to both sides
x^2-6x+49=8y
complete the square
-6/3=-3, (-3)^2=9
(x^2-6x+9)+40=8y
(x-3)^2+40=8y
minus 40 both sides
(x-3)^2=8y-40
undistribute 8 on right side
(x-3)^2=(y-5)8
4P(y-k)=(x-h)^2
4(2)(y-5)=(x-3)^2

(h,k) is center
p is distance from vertex to directix and also from vertex to focus
p=2
vertex=(3,5)
in that form, the prabola opens up so
directix is 2 below vertex
focus is 2 above vertex
up and down is y so
5-2=3
5+2=7

directix is y=3
focus=(3,7)
vertex=(3,5)

Answer: \Large\boxed{f(-9)=-189}

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = -3x² - 6x

Requirements of the question

Find the value of f(-9)

Substitute values into the given function

f(x) = -3x² - 6x

f(9) = -3 (-9)² - 6 (-9)

Simplify the exponent

f(9) = -3 (81) - 6 (-9)

Simplify by multiplication

f(-9) = (-243) - (-54)

Simplify by subtraction

\Large\boxed{f(-9)=-189}

Hope this helps!! :)

wariber [46]
Replace x with 5, and evaluate the expression.
Remember to follow the correct order of operations.

100 - 15x =

= 100 - 15 * 5

= 100 - 75

= 25
