Read the following excerpt from “Homecoming.” Atsidi stood just outside his family’s hogan in the heat of the early morning air

and looked out across the vast landscape of shrubs that peppered the flat land of the reservation. In the distance, red rocks with shaved tops stood at attention. Behind them, a range of mountains wandered across the horizon as far as the eye could see. Atsidi looked for signs of movement; the horses and wagon wheels bearing his brother back home would signal their approach with clouds of dry, dusty, disturbed earth. Based on the excerpt, why is Atsidi standing outside the hogan? He needs to care for the horses. He has a lot of work to do. He has been told to wait outside. He wants to greet his brother.

What is the structure of the poem? almost perfect but not quite shel silverstein
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

In poetry, a stanza is a grouped set of lines within a poem, usually set off from others by a blank line or indentation. Stanzas can have regular rhyme and metrical schemes, though stanzas are not strictly required to have either. There are many unique forms of stanzas. Some stanzaic forms are simple, such as four-line quatrains. Other forms are more complex, such as the Spenserian stanza. Fixed verse poems, such as sestinas, can be defined by the number and form of their stanzas. The term stanza is similar to strophe, though strophe sometimes refers to an irregular set of lines, as opposed to regular, rhymed stanzas. In fact, poetry is a form of text that follows a meter and rhythm, with each line and syllable. It is further subdivided into different genres, such an epic poem, narrative, romantic, dramatic, and lyric. Among major structural elements used in poetry are the line, the stanza or verse paragraph, and larger combinations of stanzas or lines such as cantos. Also sometimes used are broader visual presentations of words and calligraphy. Poetry structure is the form in which a poem is written. Examples include blank verse, end rhyme, and named structures, such as sonnets, sestinas, haikus, balads, villanelles, and many others. The structure of a poem influences the way it is read by giving the words a certain rhythm and flow, often influencing the mood or tone of the poem, as well.
