The facts collect by Maya about Mr. Nath are not sufficient to call him a crook on the run, since they not only prove nothing but can be easily explained.

What are facts?

Facts are pieces of information that can be proven to be true. In the story, Maya collects facts about Mr Nath, such as the following:
- His last name is Nath, but she does not know his first name.
- He does not have any visitors, except for one person on Sundays.
- He pays cash for his meals and tips the person that brings them.
- He does not receive any letters.
- People say he is a strange man.
With those simple facts, Maya concludes that Mr. Nath is a crook on the run. In other words, she thinks he is a criminal who is hiding. However, those facts are not enough to prove any of that. All they show is that he lives a quiet, lonely life, and that he is not a sociable man. They may be easily explained if he has, for example, lost his family members.
Therefore, it is our conclusion that none of the facts found by Maya is enough to prove Mr. Nath is a crook.
