What are the 3 catastrophic results of radiation on the environment?

Geography
1 answer:

UV radiation generates ground-level ozone (O3) and some particulate matter (PM, frequently called aerosol) that include nitrate, sulfate, and organic aerosols causing adverse effect on human health and the environment. UV promotes the formation of hydroxyl radicals that act as cleaning agents for troposphere

Radiation has been around us throughout our evolution. So our bodies are designed to deal with the low levels we're exposed to every day. But too much radiation can damage tissues by changing cell structure and damaging DNA. This can cause serious health problems, including cancer

Why have the rules governing building on permafrost changed?
marshall27 [118]

The correct answer is - A) Permafrost used to be permanent.

The permafrost used to be permanent until recently, so using certain techniques of building on it functioned properly. But with the climate changes that are becoming more and more evident, the permafrost is no longer permanent, but instead, it is either defrosting in some part of year and then forming again, or has been totally absent from some regions in the present.

That has caused changes in the rules governing building on permafrost. The reason for the changes is that the old techniques do not work properly anymore, and the permafrost changes are making change in the landscape, making big damages on the infrastructure in meantime.

What can cause granite to break down into soil over time? A.Rain and Wind,B.Soil Deposition,C.heat from magma,or D.pressure unde
Westkost [7]

Answer:

Rain and wind will cause granite to break down and form soil over time.

Explanation:

Granite is an igneous rock, and it is one of the hardest rocks for that matter. Being an igneous and very hard rock, granite is not easy to break down and it takes a very long time, tens of millions of years in fact, and that is only if it is on the surface and exposed to the outside elements. Basically, this rock needs a very long period of time to get transformed into soil, but like any other rock it is not unbreakable and eventually, it starts to break up.

Two things that will have a big influence on the breaking up of granite would be rain and wind. The rain will cause chemical weathering while the wind will cause mechanical weathering. They will manage to gradually break up very small, fine, pieces of granite, and if they are supported by suitable climatic conditions and a lot of vegetation the process will speed up. Once the granite is broken apart and what is left of it is fine sediments, by mixing with the biomass it will form a soil.
