Answer:

15) Option B. 3

16) Option H. 144

17) Option B. -21

18) Option H. a^4 + 2

19) Option E. -18

20) Option G. 60

Step-by-step explanation:

15) 217/4 = 54 with a remainder of 1

    217 = 4 ⋅ 54 + 1

So, the 217th digit after the decimal point of 0.3456 is one of the 4n+1st digits (with n=54) and must be 3.

16) a = 1/2, p = 1/16 * 48^2

    = 144cm^2

17) when you solve the equation x^2 + 4x - 21 = 0 you get two solutions.

one is x = 3 and the second one is x = -7. The question is asking for the product so you will multiply these two x values. 3 * -7 = -21.

18) the factors of a^16 - 16 are: (a^8 + 4) (a^4 + 2) (a^4 -2)

Out of these factors that we get, (a^4 + 2) is the only polynomials listed in the answer choices.

19) 2n - 5 / n when n = 1/4

= 2(1/4) - 5 / 1/4

= -18

20) The machine is reading 40 pages in 1 hour, how many will it read in 90 minutes?

So, there are 60 minutes in an hour and the machine is reading 40 pages in 60 minutes. Meaning it is reading 20 pages in half an hour. So 20 + 20 = 40, so we are correct, the machine is indeed reading 20 pages in 30 mins. 90-60 mins = 30 mins.

How many pages is it reading in 30 mins? 20 right. So 40 + 20 = 60

The machine will read 60 pages in 90 mins.

Hello.

This is how I would work out this question, please let me know if there are any flaws.

Write an equation:

9x+24+30x=180

We know that a straight line is an 180 degree angle, so both angles should have a sum of 180.

Now, we solve algebraically.

9x+24+30x=180

39x+24=180

39x+24-24=180-24

39x=156

39x/39=156/39

x= 4

Substitute 4 for x in each expression.

9x+24

9(4)+24

36+24

60

So, the first angle is 60 degrees.

30x

30(4)

120

The second angle is 120 degrees.

Angle AEB is opposite angle DEC, so that means it has the same value of 60 degrees.

∴The answer is 60 degrees.

Please check it over and try other ways of solving to make sure I have the correct answer. I tried my best, hope this helps!
