diamong [38]

Answer:

because it comes from an actual immigrant whose experience agrees with Freedman's statement that one out of every five immigrants was detained.

Explanation:

According to Edward Corsi's quotation from the book "Immigrant Kids", Angelo Pellegrini recounts his experience of his family being detained at Ellis Island as his sister who was ill was rejected and his mother was told that she can't be allowed to go in.

This quotation adds credibility to the text because it comes from an immigrant whose experience agrees with Freedman's statement that one out of five immigrants was detained.

Which detail from Dante's poem is not found in Blake's illustration
Rasek [7]

In the poem Dante's Inferno, he says: And when he saw us, he bit into himself, Like someone whom wrath tears up from inside. My clever guide cried out to him, "Perhaps You believe that this is the Duke of Athens Who in the upper world contrived your death? "Go off, you beast! this man does not approach Instructed by your sister but comes here In order to observe your punishments." Just as the bull breaks loose right at that moment When he has been dealt the fatal blow And cannot run but jumps this way and that, So I saw the Minotaur react.” The detail of the Minotaur biting himself is not included in the painting as you can see in the following picture.

Why do you think Scrooge has such a hard time watching the scenes from the past. Use details from the story to support your idea
Norma-Jean [14]
Scrooge has such a hard time watching the scenes from the past since those are bad memories for him that he does not want to reminisce. There a lot of different versions of the story but I will use details that are pretty general. In the story when Scrooge resists his past, he sees it from a different viewpoint now and sees how he acted and treated people. This causes him to feel bad about it and want him to leave those happenings behind. Hope this helps!
