Eight taken away from five is equivalent to fourteen.

Thirteen added to seven equals five.

I don't understand the equation itself, but if those equations were to be actually written the way they were, then the above sentences are correct.

\huge \boxed{\mathbb{QUESTION} \downarrow}

Write a verbal statement for the given expression/equation.

1) 5−8=14

2) 13+7=5

\large \boxed{\mathbb{ANSWER\: WITH\: EXPLANATION} \downarrow}

  1. <u>Five minus eight is equal to fourteen.</u>
  2. <u>Thirteen plus seven is equal to five.</u>

⇨ To do this, you need to look at the equation first. Then break down your equation to verbal forms, join them & create the statement.

For example,

\rightarrow \sf \: 2 + 2 = 4

Here, we should break down this equation to ⇨ <em>2, +, 2, =, 4.</em> Now, we should write them verbally ⇨ <em>two, plus, two, equals to, four.</em> Lastly, we must join them, so now our verbal statement will become ⇨ <em>Two plus two is equal to four.</em>
