Answer: 12x² - 5x - 2

Concept:

When doing questions that need to expand algebraic expressions, using the FOIL method will ease the process:

  • First means that we multiply the terms which occur in the first position of each binomial.
  • Outer means that we multiply the terms which are located in both ends (outermost) of the two binomials when written side-by-side.
  • Inner means that we multiply the middle two terms of the binomials when written side-by-side.
  • Last means that we multiply the terms which occur in the last position of each binomial.

Solve:

Given expression

(3x - 2) (4x + 1)

Expand parentheses and apply the FOIL method

First: 3x · 4x = 12x²

Outer: 3x · 1 = 3x

Inner: (-2) · 4x = -8x

Last: (-2) · 1 = -2

12x² + 3x - 8x - 2

Combine like terms

12x² + (3x - 8x) - 2

\boxed{12^2-5x-2}

Hope this helps!! :)

Hello! $200 is the fixed amount. B doesn't have 200 as part of the problem, so B is eliminated. A is also out, because you add, not subtract. 100 is the amount of boots made, not the amount made per pair of boots. 100 would be the value of "x". The cost per day is $9,200, and 9,200 - 200 is 9,000. With 100 pairs of boots being made each day, 9,000/100 is 90. It would cost $90 per pair of boots made, with the variable "x" being beside it. The correct equation would be C(x) = 90x + 200. The answer is D.

Solve 5x + 14 = k for x
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

x = 1/5(k-14)

Step-by-step explanation:

5x + 14 = k

Subtract 14 from each side

5x+14-14 = k-14

5x = k-14

Divide by 5

5x/5 = 1/5(k-14)

x = 1/5(k-14)

You want to give your friend a soccer ball for a gift. The soccer ball has a
Ede4ka [16]

Answer:

volume of cube share box = 67.92 inch²

Step-by-step explanation:

given data

soccer ball volume = 85.3π cubic inches

solution

we know that ball will fit inside the box when box length will be equal to diameter of ball

and here soccer ball volume will be express as

soccer ball volume = \frac{4}{3}\times \pi \times r^3      .................1

85.3π  =  \frac{4}{3}\times \pi \times r^3

solve it we get

r³ = 69.9765

r = 4.12 inch

so diameter = 2 × 4.12 = 8.24 inch

diameter = length of box side

volume of cube share box = a²

volume of cube share box = 8.24²

volume of cube share box = 67.92 inch²
