Somatic cells are those cells that make up the set of tissues and organs of a living being, which undergo a process of cell differentiation that allows them to fulfill specific functions.

They are derived from stem cells during embryonic development, therefore they undergo a process of proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, which is why these cells manage to differentiate and perform many specific tasks.

Somatic cells are the most numerous in organisms. They are diploid and have genetic information in their nucleus. In humans, they are made up of 23 pairs of chromosomes, which is equal to 46 chromosomes. .

Somatic cells can multiply and maintain the same genetic information, but only a limited number of times. Hence, its main function is to ensure the proper functioning of the body through the fulfillment of various tasks.

Therefore, we can conclude that somatic cells are those that are responsible for the formation of tissues and organs in multicellular living beings, in a limited way they can multiply and fulfill specific functions.

A patient who was in a car accident has lost their sense of smell. Which part of the brain is likely injured?
skad [1K]

Answer:

There are three primary areas of the brain that control your sense of smell: The orbitofrontal cortex, located above and behind the eyes. The insula, which lies beneath the ears. The piriform cortex, located between the other two. Besides these three areas, there are smaller brain regions that also play a part in smell.

The potential difference across a resting neuron in the human body is about 70 mv, and the current in it is approximately 200ua.
MrMuchimi

I = 200 ua

V = 70 mV

Power = ?

Formula: Power = IV

Solution:

Power = IV

= ( 200 x 10^-6 A ) x ( 70 x 10^-3 V )

Power = 1.4 x 10^-5 Watts

The power that the neuron release is 1.4 x 10^-5 Watts

What parts of atoms are responsible for how they interact with other atoms
weqwewe [10]
The correct answer is outer electrons. These are sometimes called 'valence electrons', and they are responsible for the element's properties and how it forms bonds. For example, elements in Column 2 are likely to form ionic bonds with elements in Column 16. This is because elements in Column 2 have 2 outer electrons, while elements in Column 16 have 6 outer electrons. If the element in Column 2 gives its 2 electrons to the element in Column 16, then the former will be stable because the energy level underneath will be complete, and the latter will be stable because it will have a complete outer energy level with 8 electrons.

Hope this helps!
