11,287-5,159 (find the difference) = 6128

I understand they want you to use rounding. I’m not sure whether that is before or after the finding the difference but I would round it up to the nearest 100.

So the two possible answers I would give are

6,100 or 6100

Now that I’ve done both I see that it doesn’t really matter

You would have to make 465=1550-7 1/2 x and find x
Subtract 1550 from both sides
-1085=-7 1/2x
Divide -7 1/2 on both sides
And the answer is 144 2/3
