goblinko [34]

The best option would be A.

If he attends an outpatient program within the community that supports him and is a reasonable cost then he will be able to have the support of his parents and the community, it won't be too much of a strain financially for his parents and he will be away from any temptation.

Which one of the following people has the most direct and most cost effective opportunity to avoid developing disease or injury?
tia_tia [17]

The correct answer would be B. Juan

Juan is depressed because his father has passed away. This is an understandable reaction as he is grieving. This isn't something that is a daily or normal circumstance in his life though and he does have the opportunity and ability to recover and heal emotionally especially with the right support.

Cathy is addicted to cigarettes which already puts her at high risk of developing health problems. All her friends smoke which adds on additional peer pressure and negative environment making it difficult for her to quit. Smoking is also an expensive habit.

Meryl has diabetes which she seems to have inherited. She is at a high risk of developing complications resulting from her diabetes and medical treatment for her diabetes alone is expensive.

Paul is being exposed on a daily basis to polluted air. The only thing he could do about that would be to move but that is expensive. He can't do anything about the coal plant or the pollution and he is at high risk of developing respiratory problems.
