Answer: 348  and 355

Step-by-step explanation:

Let  two positive numbers are  x and y

so,

when  the difference is 7 then equation will become

x-y=7                   Eq(1)

when product is 2439 then equation will become

x*y=2438             Eq (2)

By rearranging Equation (2)

x= 2438/y         Eq(3)

Now put the value of x as in eq (3) in eq(1) to get y's value

(2438/y)-y=7

(2438-1)/y =7

2437 / y =7

2437/7 =y

y=348.14    approx  348

Put the value of y in Eq(1) for x

x-348=7

x=7+348

x=355

so the two positve numbers are  355 and 348

For Check

x-y=7

355-348=7

7=7

Tyler is 9 years old his sister Olivia is 6 years less than twice his age writ a numerical expression for Olivia’s age
liberstina [14]
Hello there!

The following will show you

T = tyler

O = olivia

O = 2t - 6

when you include numbers, it is represented by:

O = (2 * 9) - 6

Now, let's solve this to find out just how old Olivia is.

2 * 9 = 18

18 - 6 = 12

Olivia is 12

This means that olivia is 3 years older than tyler

I hope I helped!

Answer:

B and E

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the rational expression

\frac{x-7}{2x^2-32} ← factorise the denominator

2x² - 32 ← take out a common factor of 2 from each term

= 2(x² - 16) ← (x² - 16) is a difference of squares

= 2(x - 4)(x + 4)

The expression can now be written as

\frac{x-7}{2(x-4)(x+4)}

The denominator of the expression cannot be zero as this would make the expression undefined. Equating the denominator to zero and solving gives the values that x cannot be.

2(x - 4)(x + 4) = 0

Equate each factor to zero and solve for x

x - 4 = 0 ⇒ x = 4

x + 4 = 0 ⇒ x = - 4

These are the values of x that make the expression undefined.

x = 4 → B

x = - 4 → E

Write an equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through the point (5, 1) and has a slope of -3
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

<h2>         y - 1 = -3(x - 5)</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

An equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through the point (<em>x₁,y₁</em>) and has a slope of <em>m</em>:

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

m = -3

(5, 1)     ⇒       x₁ = 5,  y₁ = 1

Therefore:

y - 1 = -3(x - 5)
