Pathogenic fungi are fungi that cause disease in humans or other organisms. Approximately 300 fungi are known to be pathogenic to humans. The study of fungi pathogenic to humans is called "medical mycology". Although fungi are eukaryotic, many pathogenic fungi are microorganisms.
People might accept people because of the fact that it is not contagious. HIV is a sexually transmitted disease so if someone with HIV have sexual intercourse with someone else they might get it. Its kind of the same thing with aids. Kind of off subject but a good example, there was this movie about a little boy who got aids and he was basically shunned from his community because of the fact he had aids. It is not contagious like cold but if you share needles (i.e drugs) of have sex, you may catch the disease...hope this helps. good luck! :))
