Answer: The poem “City Johannesburg” is about the relationship between the speaker, an African man working in the urban area during the Apartheid era, and the city, Johannesburg. It emphasises the oppression and dehumanisation caused by the Apartheid system in the past. The urban area is shown to be vast and controlling, a place of anxiety and sorrow for the man. The poem also deals with some similarities and differences between the rural and urban areas.

What lesson do you learn from the story the address?
yaroslaw [1]

The lesson do you learn from the story the address

The Address by Marga Minco centres on the idea of crisis, which each of us faces on a daily basis.

Humans are impacted by war in many different ways by the death, suffering, and destruction it causes.

The narrator and his mother's life, however, are disrupted by the war in this novel.

It is true that Marga Minco's "

The Address" is an uplifting tale that adequately illuminates the value of letting go.

It emphasises once more that the present is all we have and that the past and future are only illusions.

Breaking the word "Mustn't" between the "t" and the "n"... A) violates the poem's rhyme scheme B) creates an example of onomatop
kompoz [17]

Answer:

The objective of the question is somewhat unclear.

Explanation:

A) It's impossible to tell whether or not the poem's rhyme scheme is being violated. This is because we don't have a reference to the poem where the word was used.

B) The word "Mustn't" is not an example of Onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia refers to words which when used sound like the object being described. This creates more expression and color in the literature where it is used.

Some examples of Onomatopoeia are:

  1. Zoom
  2. Zing
  3. Belch
  4. Boom
  5. Clang

C) End-Stopping refers to a poetic device that entails a pause at the end of a unit of syntax. A syntactic unit may be a sentence, phrase, or clause.

An example of an end-stopped line is given below:

How can I compare you to a sunny day?

You are more resplendent and lovely:

D) Mustn't only means one thing: "Must Not"

So the word is a contraction of two words: Must and Not.

Contractions are used in the English Language for informal conversations. They are inappropriate for formal correspondences.

Cheers
