The vertex angle of an isosceles triangle measures 26° . The base is 30 units long. What is the length of a leg of the isosceles
sergejj [24]

Answer:

65.46 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the information:

  • The vertex angle of an isosceles triangle measures 26°

=> the leg angle is:

= (180°  - 26° )/2

= 77°

  • The base is 30 units

Let x is the length of the leg side (x>0)

We use cosine law to find x, we have:

30^{2} = x^{2} +x^{2} -2xxCos(26) Because the  isosceles has two equal leg sides

<=> 30^{2} = 2x^{2} - 1.79x^{2}

<=> 0.21x^{2}  = 30^{2}

<=> x^{2} =4285

<=> x = 65.46 units

Hope it will find you well.

I need help on these problems I'm not good in mathematics
Monica [59]
Well u could make a tree with the 2 numbers on top so one of the numbers on one tree and the other number on the other and then make a triangle so if the 2 numbers are 12 and 8 then you would put 8 on one and 12 on the other and then put a triangle under the 2 numbers and then lis the 2 numbers that multiply to get those answers so for 8 it would be 2 and 4 you would circle the 2 because it has nothing that can be multiplied to get it and keep going with 4 and get 2 and 2 and then circle the 2s then make a table and put the 2 2s in one column and then put the other 2 in another column then bring one number down from each column and multiply them together and you will get your answer if there are all different numbers then put them in all separate columns. Hope this helped!

Which two steps should be used first in solving the system of equations
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

The value of x , y  using substitution method is 2 , 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The two linear equation as

6 y - 4 x = 22            .......1

y + 2 x = 9

Let y = 9 - 2 x             .......2

Now, using substitution method

Substitute the value of y from eq 2 into eq 1

i.e 6 × (9 - 2 x) - 4 x = 22

Or, 54 - 12 x - 4 x = 22

Or, 12 x + 4 x = 54 - 22

Or, 16 x = 32

∴  x = \dfrac{32}{16}

i.e x = 2

Now, Put the value of x into eq 2

∴ y = 9 - 2 x

So, y = 9 - 2 × 2

Or, y = 9 - 4

i.e y = 5

So, The value of x , y = 2 , 5

Hence, The value of x , y  using substitution method is 2 , 5   Answer
