Answer: A protein acts as a pump and moves calcium ions from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration.

There are primarily two types of the transport system which occurs through the cell membrane. These are Active transport and passive transport. Active transport facilitates the movement of substances from a medium of lower concentration to a medium of higher concentration. Energy is required for the movement of substances against the concentration gradient. This is accomplished by ATP ( adenosine triphosphate) powered pumps or some other source like an electrochemical gradient.

On the other hand, in passive transport, substances move from a medium of higher concentration to lower concentration.

As Ca^{2+} ions are moving from low to higher concentration via protein pump, therefore, it accurately describes the movement through active transport.

What happens if your hypothesis is incorrect
murzikaleks [220]

Answer:

The science experiment is designed to disprove or support the initial hypothesis. When the findings do not align with the hypothesis, the experiment is not a failure. When the results do not agree with the hypothesis, record the information just as if it did support the original hypothesis.

Question 7: What might be some implications of Robert Hazen’s experiments
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

Robert Hazen’s studied enviromental and biological processes that might have been critical for life, and also for the formation of approximately two-thirds of Earth's mineral species (see Hazen et al., 2008; Gonzalez & Richards 2020) .

Explanation:

Hazen provided evidence about how first organic molecules were generated on the primitive earth millions of years ago. He observed that high-pressure hydrothermal vents may provide food for underwater ecosystems. It represents a piece of critical evidence on the origin of life.

You can read these articles that are certainly clarifying in the description of his experiments and discoveries:
