If a student has an average exam score between 70 and 79, he will earn a grade of C in his algebra course. Suppose he has three

exam scores of 75 , 62, and 85 and that his teacher said the final exam score has twice the weight of the other three exams. What range of scores on the final exam will result in him earning a grade of C?

Answer:

(64,86.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

find the case where he gets 70 and the case where he gets 79

if his average is 70:

(75+62+85+2x)/5=70

(222+2x)/5=70

222+2x=350

2x=128

x=64

if his average is 79:

(75+62+85+2x)/5=79

(222+2x)/5=79

222+2x=395

222+2x=395

2x=173

x=86.5

BRAINLIEST!!
morpeh [17]

well I know for a fact that the equation for a parabola is

ax^{2}  + bx + c

so obviously it is an equation for an ellipse, sadly I am not exactly sure whether the answer is b or c.(I'm leaning towards b)

hopefully I helped out by eliminating 2 options.

Brainliest people comment what the answer is!!!!

Have a great day

Write an equation that represents the line (use exact numbers)
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

y = x + 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The attached graph

Required

Find the equation of the graph

First, we have to get the coordinates of any two points on the graph;

Point 1:

When x = 0; y = 6

Point 2:

When x = -6, y = 0

So, at this stage;we have two coordinates

(x_1,y_1)(x_2,y_2) = (0,6)(-6,0)

Next is to determine the slope of the line using the following formula

m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

Substitute (x_1,y_1)(x_2,y_2) = (0,6)(-6,0)

m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} becomes

m = \frac{0 - 6}{-6 - 0}

m = \frac{- 6}{-6}

m = 1

Next is to determine the equation using slope formula

m = \frac{y - y_1}{x - x_1}\ or\ m = \frac{y - y_2}{x - x_2}

using

m = \frac{y - y_1}{x - x_1}\ where\ m = 1\ x_1 = 0\ and \ y_1 = 6

1 = \frac{y - 6}{x - 0}

1 = \frac{y-6}{x}

Multiply both sides by x

x * 1 = x * \frac{y-6}{x}

x = y - 6

Add 6 to both sides

x + 6 = y - 6 + 6

x + 6 = y

y = x + 6

<em>Hence, the equation of the line is </em>y = x + 6<em></em>
