The main conflict in the story is between the mother’s desire for obedience and the daughter’s desire for independence. It reveals contrasting cultural perspectives between the characters. The daughter’s independence is a reflection of growing up in the United States. As a result of living in America, she desires the freedom to make her own decisions. The mother, however, has values based on her Chinese heritage. She believes that children must obey their parents at all times. These differences lead to arguments between the mother and daughter over many years.

What is your view? Once you establish that, what is the opposite view? How does it counter your position? Now that you acknowledged the counterclaim, refute it. Show why that view is wrong, or how your view is better. Use supporting evidence to back up your claim. You can do this for both sides to create a concise argument.
(i’m assuming it’s supposed to be in first person, if it’s not you can just change the pov) To start my night time routine, I jump in the shower to rinse off after a long day. after that i get dressed into my pajamas for the night, usually an old t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. after I get dressed i brush through my hair to get any tangled out, and head to the bathroom to brush my teeth. after flossing and gargling mouthwash, i go back to my room and double check to make sure i’ve done all of my homework that is due tomorrow. if i’m all caught up on my schoolwork, i go on my phone for a little bit, either scrolling through social media or texting friends. around eleven, i close my phone for the night and settle into bed, trying to get as much sleep as i can before my 6am alarm goes off.
