So what I would do is put the negatives and positives together so -18 and -12 to = -30 then 45 and 8 which would be 53 then do 53-30 to get 23

What is the answer for this one ??
Arisa [49]

Answer: D

Step-by-step explanation:

A. 3 + -7 < -4

    -4 < -4

        X

    this one isn’t a solution

B. 3 + -7 ≤ -4

   -4 ≤ -4

   this works, let’s try the other equation

   3(3) + 2(-7) < -5

    9 + -14 < -5

     -5 < -5

       X

     this one doesn’t work either, let’s go on to the next one

C. the first equation is the same as the first one in A, and that didn’t work, so we know that the whole thing doesn’t work and we don’t have to do any math

D. we know the first equation works because we did it in B

    let’s go on to the second equation

    3(3) + 2(-7) ≤ -5

     9 -14 ≤ -5

     -5 ≤ -5

      this works, so that means that both equations work and the whole thing works :)

Find y when x=4 and z=15; if y varies jointly as x and z y=5 when z=8 and x=10
Law Incorporation [45]
I think the answer to y when x=4 and z=15; if y varies jointly as x and z y=5 when z=8 and x=10 is B. Y=1/2. Y•15; 12/4.

The last one need the right answer please
Llana [10]

Answer:

Part 1) The unit rate is 16\frac{dollars}{ounce}

Part 2) The unit rate is \frac{1}{4}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

Part 3) The unit rate is \frac{1}{4}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

Part 4) The unit rate is 4\frac{dollars}{ounce}

see the attached figure

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{d2-d1}{n2-n1}

where

d ----> number of dollars (dependent variable or output value)

n ---> number of ounces (independent variable or input value)

Remember that the slope of the linear equation is the same that the unit rate

<u><em>Verify each case</em></u>

1) we have

d=16n

This is a proportional relationship between the variables d and n

The slope is

m=16\frac{dollars}{ounce}

therefore

The unit rate is 16\frac{dollars}{ounce}

2) we have

<em>First table</em>

take two points from the table

(4,1) and (16,4)

substitute in the formula of slope

m=\frac{d2-d1}{n2-n1}

m=\frac{4-1}{16-4}

m=\frac{3}{12}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

simplify

m=\frac{1}{4}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

therefore

The unit rate is \frac{1}{4}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

3) we have

n=4d

This is a proportional relationship between the variables d and n

isolate the variable d

d=\frac{1}{4}n

The slope is

m=\frac{1}{4}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

therefore

The unit rate is \frac{1}{4}\frac{dollars}{ounce}

4) we have

<em>Second table</em>

take two points from the table

(1,4) and (2,8)

substitute in the formula of slope

m=\frac{d2-d1}{n2-n1}

m=\frac{8-4}{2-1}

m=4\frac{dollars}{ounce}

therefore

The unit rate is 4\frac{dollars}{ounce}

In order to justify this claim for the Ferengi a sample of 16 coils is taken. For this sample set, the mean warp phase flux is f
Kay [80]

Answer:

The responses to these question can be defined as follows:

Step-by-step explanation:

n = 16\\\\  \bar{x}= 73.7\\\\\sigma = 12\\\\a = 0.05\ or\  a = 0.10\\\\H_{o} \ : \mu = 68\\\\H_{a} \ : \mu \neq 68\\\\a = 0.05\\\\

critical values =\pm t0.025,15 = \pm 2.131\\\\

(n-1) = 15^{\circ}\\\\a = 0.10\\\\

critical values= \pm t0.05,15 = \pm 1.753\\\\

(n-1) = 15^{\circ}\\\\

Testing the statistic values:

t = \frac{x-\mu_{0}}{ \frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}}\\\\

  = \frac{73.7-68}{(\frac{12}{\sqrt{16}})}\\\\\  = \frac{5.7}{(\frac{12}{4})}\\\\  = \frac{5.7}{(3)}\\\\  = 1.9\\

Test statistic ta = -1.90\ lies

The critical values\pm t_{0.05,15} =\pm 1.753

It is in the region of dismissal. We dismiss the 10% significant null hypothesis.

t_a = 1.90 \\\\df = 15\\\\a = 0.05\\\\p-value = 076831\\\\

P - value is greater than the level of significance a= 0.05

Null hypothesis we don't reject. At a 95% level, the claim is justified.

t_a = 1.90\\\\ df = 15\\\\  a = 0.10\\\\p-value = 076831\\\\

P - value below the meaning level a = 0.10, we reject the hypothesis null. At a level of 90% the claim is not justified.
