Most Americans are familiar with the mushrooms they eat on a pizza or in a salad. But beyond that, most people know very little

about this popular fungus. More than 3,000 different types of mushrooms are grown around the world. Some mushrooms are less than an inch high, while others are more than 15 inches tall. They have strange names like shiitake, Portobello and Black Trumpet. Until World War II, most mushrooms were grown in Asia, where they were used in soups and vegetable dishes. But today, the United States is the world’s largest supplier of mushrooms. From 1986 to 1999, worldwide mushroom production grew from 470 million pounds to 860 million pounds.
What is this paragraph’s implied main idea?

A.Before World War II, most mushrooms were grown in Asia.

B.Mushrooms are good for one’s health.

C.Many Americans do not know much about mushrooms.

D.All mushrooms have strange names.

Find the following verse in the Book of Psalms. Study the verse and write the synthetic parallel that the verse uses. Psalm 111:
Anika [276]

Answer:

The synthetic parallel that the verse uses has to do with showing special emphasis to the first part of the verse and then, the second part consists of an expansion of the idea.

Explanation:

The first part of the Psalm 111:1 says <em>"Praise the Lord"</em> which means that the writer of this Psalm worship God. When It says "Lord" with cappital letter It refers to God. Then, the second part of the Psalm says <em>"I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly"  </em>which says practically the same as the first part of the Psalm but here we can see that there is an explanation of the writer. He says that he will extol the Lord with all his heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.  Synthetic parallelism involves an expansion of the idea that is written in the first part.
