In "the most dangerous game," sanger rainsford says "im a hunter, not a murderer" when he finds out that zaroff hunts humans. Ba
marysya [2.9K]
Rainsford does not believe animals and people are the same. Here he claims that he is a hunter and that if General Zaroff hunts people, he is a murderer. This implies that Rainsford does not feel as if killing animals matters or that they feel anything at all the way humans do. He believes that a kill for sport can only be considered murder if it is a human being killed.

Earlier on in the short story, he also mentions directly to Whitney that he believes animals feel differently than humans do, and that their lives do not matter in the way his and Whitney's do.

The correct answer in this case is "we"

Us is also correct but in that case the sentence would not be an elliptical one. If you use "we" then the sentence is both correct and elliptical which fits the description of the question.

In Animal Farm Why did Squealer think that Napoleon was dying? What actually happened to Napoleon?
Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

Squealer thought Napoleon was dying because he, along with the other pigs, were all so quiet after drinking the whiskey they found in the cellars.

Napoleon was actually having a hangover from the drinking experience.

Explanation:

George Orwell's "Animal Farm" is an allegorical novel about farm animals and their 'revolution' against the human masters. And in presenting the animals with their intention to rule on their own, Orwell is metaphorically talking about the Russian Revolution.

The scene about the 'supposed' dying of Napoleon is from Chapter VIII where the animals had discovered<em> "a case of whisky in the cellars of the farmhouse [that] had been overlooked at the time when the house was first occupied."</em> And with their very first 'experience' of getting drunk, the whole farm was so quiet that the animals thought Napoleon was dying. In fact, Squealer told the other animals that Napoleon was dying.

But Napoleon wasn't dying. It was just a case of an extreme hangover from the drinking.

What does ethos mean
Alla [95]
Ethos is a mode of persuasion used to convince the audience. It is one of three artistic proofs (ethos, pathos, and logos).

Ethos is also known as ethical appeal and convinces your audience of credibility and character. It is used to prove you are worth listening to. Ethos can be developed by choosing language that is appropriate for the audience and topic (this also means choosing the proper level of vocabulary), making yourself sound fair or unbiased, introducing your expertise, accomplishments or pedigree, and by using correct grammar and syntax.
