The surrounding surface remains untouched, with no projections. Sunken relief carving is found almost exclusively in ancient Egyptian art, although it has also been used in some beautiful small-scale ivory reliefs from India.

Blue fades quickly but looks really cool. I would go with pink because once pink fades it will just look lighter and not look gross and green if you were to dye your hair blue. If you don' like pink go with purple because purple metallic has a nice look.
I believe this would be the sandstone cave of Game Pass in the Drakensberg Mts of South Africa where there are many fine rock art images of elands with and anthropomorphic images with hooves instead of feet. This is apparently a metaphor for the San shamanistic religion.
